Q: What’s the difference between valuing a house and a business?

A: A real estate valuation is a valuers’ expert advice or opinion on the market value of a particular property. The valuers’ opinion is usually contained in an official and confidential report and is based on an analysis of the property and an understating or opinion of the current real estate market trends affecting that particular property.

Appraising the value of a business takes into consideration estimating the worth of goodwill, brand, processes and customers of the business which is a going concern; an accounting convention.
